في معرض نقده روايـة "في حضرة الماضي" لرزان أحمد، كتب الأستاذ جميل السلحوت: ومن يقرأ الرّواية ستدهشه لغة الكاتبة التي تملكك ثروة لغويّة نغبطها عليها، فهي تعجّ بكلّ صنوف البلاغة، التي يتوقّف المتلقّي أمام جماليّاتها، وقد تلاعبت الكاتبة بعفويّة وسلاسة لافتة دون تصنّع أو تكلّف بجماليّات اللغة، وكأنّي بها تعزف موسيقى عذبة وهي تكتب روايتها، ولغتها لغة شعريّة وشاعريّة تطرب من يقرأها فتشدّه إليها وتبهره بأناقتها. ومن خلال هذه الرّواية يتضّح للقارئ أنّ الكاتبة موهوبة وقادرة على السّرد بسلاسة وانسيابيّة ماتعة ومشوّقة. وهذه الرّواية تشي بأنّ الكاتبة تملك خيالا خصبا مجنونا لا حدود له، فهي تحلّق عاليا في سماء الرّومانسيّة، وتجوب جنّة الحبّ العذريّ دون توقّف، فتجيد الوصف وهي تحلب دنيا الحبّ بينابيع اللغة التي لا تنضب، فيقودها هذا الخيال إلى الإطالة في الكتابة دون ملل، ويجنّبها التّكرار فتزرع أرض القراءة شوقا وتشويقا للمتابعة، وهذا يسجّل لصالحها ولصالح الرّواية أيضا، ويظهر أنّ الكاتبة متأثّرة بروايات إحسان عبدالقدّوس، والأفلام السّينمائيّة والمسلسلات التّلفزيونيّة المصريّة...... In his critique of the novel “Fi Hadret Almadi” by Razan Ahmad, Jameel Al-Sulhout wrote: Anyone who reads the novel will be amazed by the writer's language, which boasts a linguistic wealth that we long for. It is filled with all kinds of eloquence, and the recipient pauses before its beauties. The writer plays with spontaneity and remarkable fluency without artifice or pretentiousness regarding the beauties of the language, as if she is playing a sweet melody while writing her novel. Her language is poetic and melodic, which delights the reader and draws them in with its elegance.Through this novel, it becomes clear to the reader that the writer is talented and able to narrate effortlessly and engagingly. This novel indicates that the writer possesses a boundless, wild imagination. She soars high in the sky of romance and wanders through the paradise of pure love without stopping. She excels in describing and milking the world of love from the inexhaustible springs of language, leading her to extend her writing without boredom, avoiding repetition, thus planting in the reading ground a yearning and excitement for follow-up. This is a point in her favor and in favor of the novel as well. It appears that the writer is influenced by the novels of Ihsan Abdel Quddous, Egyptian films, and television series.
